As the Philippine APEC Study Center Network marks its 30th anniversary, this volume examines how the Philippines can better leverage Asia-Pacific integration to achieve inclusive, resilient, and sustainable development. Drawing on research covering trade, innovation, digitalization, infrastructure, labor mobility, climate action, energy transition, tourism, food security, and women’s economic participation, the chapters assess why regional integration has not always translated into stronger domestic capabilities or broader development gains. They highlight the critical role of effective institutions, capable firms, skilled workers, and complementary policies in fostering innovation, productivity, and social inclusion. Anchored in the aspirations of the APEC Putrajaya Vision 2040, the volume offers evidence-based insights on addressing long-standing development constraints while responding to emerging challenges, including technological change, climate risks, and evolving geopolitical dynamics. Collectively, the chapters underscore the importance of research, collaboration, and informed policymaking in advancing a more competitive, equitable, and future-ready Philippines.
